| Introduction | I'm a documentary filmmaker, teacher and a musician. Recent projects include "You Left Me Blue" a feature length documentary about the life of Handsome Ned Masyk, rockabilly / roots country musician. I teach documentary filmmaking at Centennial College in Toronto. I was born in Upminster, Essex, U.K. and emigrated to Canada with my family when I was nine. I completed a Fine Arts Honours BA in Film at York University, and have since worked continuously as a director, cinematographer, writer, producer, editor and teacher. In 1989 I spent a year studying under and assisting British feature film director Lindsay Anderson. I was also one of the last directors to study under drama coach Maruska Stankova. I have also been an active musician in the Toronto music scene and continue to sing, play drums and guitar with The Lost Anglers and drums with The Aquatic Park Jazz Collective. |
