| Introduction | Admittedly, my writing (which appears here intermittently) has shown little maturation in the twenty-plus years since formal school studies, and most always presents as overly-florid, pretentious, bombastic, near incoherent. Even so, my thoughts, however convoluted, are almost always heartfelt and genuine. /// As far as visual endeavors go, be it mixed-media assemblage or mere smartphone photography, I generally lean on what comes with the least degree of struggle or resistance. Albeit tacky or crude, collage currently provides most pleasure for me as a process. I would have perhaps chosen a more “legitimate” technique or style (one worthy of display, if not commission) had I challenged myself to anything but what comes naturally and by instinct. In the end, I aim to create something memorable at worst, impactful at best —revealing a touch of the unconventional or misfit in life's achingly magnificent (yet broken) design. |
