Introduction	FMM advances its mission using a combination of research, litigation and public outreach. FMM researches conventional and alternative power possibilities in Maine, and then promotes and advances these findings to the people of Maine, the environmental and business communities, the legislative, judicial and executive branches of Maine state government, and to the state’s media. FMM’s products include publications, articles, conferences, media expertise, and policy briefings. Governed by an independent Board of Directors, Friends of Maine’s Mountains is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, tax-exempt organization with IRS 501(c)3 status. FMM also has a Board of Advisors that provides experienced and expert counsel to the organization in the energy and power arenas. FMM relies on generous support from individuals, corporations, and foundations to fund its work.
