| Introduction | I enjoy wind. I love packing my bags, adding stamps to my passport, and meeting kind strangers in the oddest of places. I have a penchant for dogs with very large ears, would happily collect rainboots, and treasure my grandmother's vintage sunglasses. Camping, yellow umbrellas, Highway One and electric blues guitar are quite essential. I enjoy the feeling of finishing a long, fast swim set, and can spend days rereading books I first loved when I was 12. Rope swings call to me; the smell of chlorine follows me, and I'd be happy anywhere with a bar full of friends all singing along to karaoke and playing shuffle board. I need citrus tea and juke boxes, feel stunning in drop-waisted peacoats, love my pale skin and strawberry hair, pray for power outages and empathy, and thank whomever's listening for grace, creativity, good people and the Pacific Ocean. I plant gardens designed to become wild and roam thrift stores every weekend. I share my home with vintage clocks, rows and rows of books, and a very endearing corgi nicknamed Piglet. |
