Introduction I'm not an expert at anything, except asking precocious questions!
Interests It’s not my intention to provide definitive answers to life’s questions. There are many avenues you can pursue if that’s what you’re looking for, and I hope you’ll avail yourself of every one of them. My intention is only to help you see what’s right in front of you in the arena of religion(s) versus science(s). These are complex issues some spend their entire lifetimes trying to unravel. Even a list of books, websites, and experts on the subject would fill more than a book. Where I know a Biblical citation, I will include it, but I have no intention of going through the Bible point by point. I rather intend to point out enough misconceptions and contradictions to show why it should be thrown out altogether except as an honored example of fictional literature. There are thousands of experts (and almost as many opinions) on these subjects, all more qualified, better-educated, and probably smarter than I am. But religious experts fend off our questions with murmurs about miracles, faith and mysteries. Scientific experts try very hard to answer our questions sometimes, but their language is not ours. I’ll be trying to apply logical thinking to issues that aren’t usually openly discussed by either side, in language that the religious and non-religious and the scientist and non-scientist and those who are neither can all understand. I hope that when you’ve read this, done your own studies and done your own thinking, you will come to the same conclusion I’ve come to. I wish that not only for you, but for the world. That’s probably too ambitious, but let’s start with you. Oh, and if your church bans this book, it’s my considered opinion (and I am an expert on my opinion) that you should read it before burning.
