Introduction SIDS Link - Linking Parents. In the past 20 years, the number of infants that have succumbed to SIDS has decreased by half. In 1989, one of every 500 babies born in the US died of SIDS. Thankfully, as of 2008 that rate is down to one in every 1,000. However, because of this significant decrease, public support for family programs focused on SIDS and its ramifications has also fallen. In response to this dwindling support, this site was launched to bring community to those individuals whose lives have been affected by SIDS and similar causes of death. Though our intent is to unite people who have experienced the loss of an infant or child due to an unknown cause of death, we will help find resources for other types of infant loss as well.
