| Introduction | I have a special place in my heart for two daughters and their families and the steadfast wind beneath my wings--my wife. I am a husband, father, grandfather, writer, teacher, history buff, poet, photographer, artist, outdoorsman (hiking, riding, skiing, cycling) who loves dogs. I am a dreamer, a fire dawg and a cowboy—I am El Llanero Viejo. I am a svetski putnik (a globe trekker) with adventures in 45 US states, Canada, Mexico, 15 European countries, the Caribbean and South America. I am in spirit the Lakota war chief Tȟašúŋke Witkó and the legendary Serbian knight Miloš Obilić. I am in awe and draw inspiration from God’s creation—like that first rain drop on parched prairie wilds, solitary hawks soaring effortlessly on the sun’s breath in azure skies and hushed whispers of wind in winter pines. |
