| Introduction | After a successful 25 year career in the insurance industry, I ran away and joined the circus. I met Dr. Patch Adams and learned about his work using humor to heal. I was so inspired, I trained as a clown and in 2000 went with Patch's Gesundheit Institute to Russia. We brought joy and laughter to orphanages, children's hospitals, and nursing homes. When I came back, I became the Clown in Residence at Holy Cross Hospital (2000-2005) and later became the boss clown for Big Apple Circus Clown Care at Miami Children's Hospital (2005-present). I went back to school in 2011 to become a teacher, got my AA from Broward College and transferred to FAU for my BA. |
