| Introduction | Rema Reynolds Vassar, PhD has dedicated her career to promoting educational equity, focusing on dismantling barriers for marginalized communities. With over 20 years of experience in K-12 education, she has worked as a teacher, counselor, and administrator, advocating for inclusive environments where every student can succeed. As a professor of Educational Leadership at Wayne State University, Vassar empowers future educators to lead with equity and social justice. She founded the Centering Black Children in Education (CBCE) and Leading Well initiatives to support Black children and women in leadership roles. Additionally, she established the Sankofa Scholarship Foundation to provide financial support for higher education. Through her advocacy, policy, and academic work, Dr. Rema champions inclusive educational systems that empower all students to thrive. |
