| Introduction | I am a firm believer in reason. Yes, I am a woman of faith, but I don't believe in blind faith, as admirable as it is. God made things quite orderly, systematic, and yet, beautiful. As great as it is to be so faithful, one must understand his faith, or how is he to defend it, even to himself? I am willing to have my faith challenged; I think every man owes it to himself to allow such to occur. With this reason also comes obedience, the humility to obey the Almighty, the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth; the "why" to His commands is not necessary, though it eases the insatiable mind. "If we diligently observe this entire commandment before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us, we will be in the right." -Deuteronomy 6:25 (NRSV) I previously described myself as "Jewish". Perhaps "Follower of the one true god"? I am law observant and monotheistic. I converted from Christianity through a series of spiritual explorations and studies, and really, I'm not sure my overall beliefs have changed; my main pursuit is the same, and that's servitude and dedication to the one true god, YHWH. I'm probably not what you'd expect out of the word "Jewish", so let's not use the term. |
