Introduction Anneliese writes fiction and poetry in Richmond, BC, Boulder, CO, and points between on the train. After teaching Italian at UBC for 20+ years, she now works at an extreme weather shelter. More and more of her work is cli-fi, set in the near future in a climate-changed world. A Pushcart Prize nominee and former Bread Loaf Scholar, she completed her MFA in Creative Writing at UBC. Her work has been published by “Literary Imagination”, “Enizagam”, “The Lascaux Review”, “Stone Canoe”, “The Toronto Star”, and Moon Willow Press, and recognized by “Glimmer Train”, the Bath Short Story Award, and the Surrey International Writers’ Conference. Winner of the 2017 Cedric Award in Fiction and the 2016 “Stone Canoe” Prize for Fiction, she was shortlisted for the 2016 HarperCollins/ UBC Best New Fiction Award, and received the 2013 ALSCW Fiction Award and the 2013 “Enizagam” Fiction Award. Today? She might be riffing on language and life with her musician son, continuing work on her climate fiction series for young adults, sending out a story for the 30th time, or writing a Middle Grade novel in which diverse step-family meets rude ghosts …
