Introduction	Much against my will I am now officially a 'cancer sufferer'. In order to fight the victimhood that that title implies I have done what comes naturally to me and researched everything I could find about cancer/my particular brand of cancer . Much of it was terrifying and upsetting but it's helped me understand the reality of the situation. As I'm a librarian I automatically thought this (sifted by an expert sifter) information might be useful to you out there. Anecdotally there'll also be stuff about how my mind and my body are coping and probably some black humour. I resisted calling the blog 'what a bummer' preferring to hang on to my old ways by referencing Joni's beautiful song about crazy hope,high aspirations and, well, some dashed hopes, a world I had been familiar with and plan to return to in a few months when I am cured.
