| Introduction | Minister, muckraker, musician. Re the first, an evangelical who believes in evolution (with first cause), the complete separation of church and state (though faith/religion have a place in the "public square"), women's right to choose (though abortion is wrong), gay civil unions (though not marriage) and stem cell research. Re the second, a left-center liberal who laments the (phony) "war on terror," the Iraq war, the fear-mongering administration, and the continued shredding of the Constitution leading to the curtailment of freedoms and civil liberties ostensibly for some illusive sense of "security." Re the third, a pianist, drummer and vocalist whose tastes run from Allman to Zappa (Abba to ZZ Top?), from rock to raga, from Bach to Stock(hausen). And, obviously, one with an (alliterative) affinity for la langue anglaise. |
