| Introduction | Well I'm a thirty-ISH yr (on the down side of the 30's) old teacher, transplanted okie/californian, a wanna-be writer, a mommy to 4 high energy kiddo's (one step-son who is grown and my 16 year old son who decided to live with his Dad in Oklahoma this year-this breaks my heart-but I know he needs this and I want him to be happy) a 12 year old who is just like me (loves to read, travel, explore and learn - also likes to cook like his dad) and a 6 year old daughter who is VERY precocious, intelligent, and QUITE a handful. And finally, last but not least -wife to a guy who has decided he wanted to go back to his "new-england" roots-so here we are...., But I'm also just "me" "bran", ~ see my xtra long rant about "mom next door" Its my best blog. |
| Interests | Reading,Yoga,Jogging,Writing,and of course blogging, I'm also a special education teacher and always looking for ways to collaborate for students and families that are dealing with disabilities and learning impairments. |
| Favorite movies | As Good as It Gets (1997) with Jack Nicholsen, Helen Hunt, & Greg Kinnear. The Princess Bride, anything Monty Python, (which should give you a good idea of my humor, ~I also love classic movies, i.e. Gaslight, North by Northwest, Rebecca, LOVE scary movies, thriller movies, and zombie movies, LOVED LOVED LOVED the following movies, Spangish, dodgeball (i'm nothing if not multiple personality, er i mean eclectic), kill bill 1& 2, napolean dynamite,school of rock,farenheit 911, & shaun of the dead... |
| Favorite music | I love all kinds of music (thanks dad ), of course I constantly have childrens music (i.e. wheels on the bus...)running through my head since I used teach preschool (lol!)and I like everything from twangy country, mozart, and new age, to my teen's taste which run to Blink 182 & Linkin Park, i also like jazz & blues, love ella fitzgerald,and old southern blues. Especially like Sinatra...sometimes you just have to listen to ole blue eyes or the chairman of the board-as some prefer. |
| Favorite books | I'm also a bibliophile so its hard to pick a few favorites, i will read a food wrapper if there is nothing around to read, I guess a few that stand out for me for various reasons including nostalgia are, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, , ANNA Karenina, Love You Forever by Robert Munsch & Sheila McGraw, & The Red Tent by Anita Diamant, I also found a new book series I like by author Charlaine Harris, (The Dead Series i.e. Living Dead in Dallas, etc.), i really could go on forever...Love Steinbeck, Mosher (who's helping me to understand the NEK and the culture here and to appreciate it and "To Kill a Mockingbird" my fav book of all time. Almost named my daughter scout...Love books by Louise Eldrich and wish I could write as well as her. |
