| Introduction | I started my financial career in 1994 after graduating from Acadia University. In March of 1999, I became the General Manager of the former Codroy Valley Credit Union. The credit union at that point was opening a new branch in St. Georges, and constructing a new building in Doyles. There was also a branch in the McKays area. Total assets at that time were just over $5 Million and there were 8 staff. Fast-forward to today and we are growing at phenomenal rates. Newly amalgamated with Brook Street Credit Union, Leading Edge Credit Union boasts assets of just over $70 Million with 47 full and part-time staff. I enjoy my career here at the Credit Union and it has provided me numerous opportunities for professional development. In 2007, I was recognized as one of the “Top Five Young Leaders in Canada” by Credit Union Central of Canada. I have been fortunate to be able to give back to my community. I have served as President of the Port aux Basques and Area Chamber of Commerce, Member of the school board, Town Councillor with Town of Channel-Port-aux-Basques and have held numerous other volunteer positions that have allowed me to remain actively involved in supporting my community. |
