| Introduction | Cotton On Quilters, Wanganui, New Zealand meet at the Masonic Hall, corner of Dublin and Keith Streets on the first Saturday of each month (except January). Meetings consist of two parts. The first, called Stitch & Baste, is at 10.30 am and provides an opportunity for quilters to gather together, to work on projects of their own choice, use the basting tables or participate in mini-workshops. The second part is at 1.30 pm and is a formal meeting time with notices, Show & Tell and afternoon tea. We often have a Guest Speaker. Visitors are always welcome. Separate to the monthly meetings we hold workshops, "half nighter" quilting sessions, bus trips, the occasional quilt retreat and we have a biennial exhibition of our members work. We also run a community quilts project. We publish a monthly newsletter prior to each meeting. There is no meeting fee but we run a monthly raffle to assist with running costs. We have an extensive library of quilting books, videos and stencils which are available to members to borrow. |
