Introduction | Marilyn Zembo Day's first published poem was in the Albany Times Union when she was in 5th grade. She'd like to say she's been writing voraciously ever since, but there was a serious break until she began writing and doing art again in the early '90s. Her words have since appeared in Knock!, Akros Review, Sage Woman, Metroland, PEER Glass: An Anthology- Writings form Hudson Valley Peer Groups and other print venues, as well as online. Her Profile was included in the magazine of the International Women's Writing Guild (IWWG). Marilyn's essays have aired on public radio and she has been featured poet at local open poetry mics. Attending the IWWG summer conference in 1995 changed her life. In 1997, she created WomanWords. Many of the women who've attended WW over the years have become her most trusted writing/art friends. Without them, her life wouldn't be nearly as creatively blessed. Marilyn hopes her blog will inspire other wo/men who write, or want to write... and further inspire those WomanWorders and IWWGers who've so often encouraged her. Everyone has a story to tell- in words, painting, dance, whatever. Do it. Start now. |
