| Introduction | Welcome to my blog / website. My friends call me Bill. I’ve been a communicator since my teens when I learned to preach extemporaneously, in front of my peers. For the last four years, I’ve been telling my life’s story as a memoir. And, for the last year, I’ve also shared some short stories on Medium.com (see my story link above). Returning to those days when I was a minister, and a Christian, has been an emotional journey. For sixty years, I happily followed Christ. And then I took the time to listen to other stories, stories I had conveniently ignored for many years. It’s time for me to share that journey with others. This 2024 Thanksgiving weekend marks twenty years since I retired from ministry at my childhood church after fifty-one years, and a few months later, began attending another. It’s been twelve years since I looked in the mirror and admitted I could no longer believe in God. I did not go gently. There was plenty of kicking and scratching… But I could not deny the information I’d come across and the way it had affected my beliefs. |
