| Introduction | I've spent the first portion of my career in Atlanta, and have always had a passion for the built environment. In fact, I recently completed a Masters degree in Integrated Facilities Management from Georgia Tech. While pursuing that degree, I really began to realize that Atlanta has a huge potential to incorporate sustainability into its built environment. As I progress in my career, it's becoming apparent to me that we need to be responsible stewards of our environment and planet. This means making good choices in how we develop and maintain our buildings. However, it needs to be accomplished in a way that also makes good economic sense. Altruism is a respectable quality, but let's face it, it doesn't pay the electric bill. I believe true sustainability in the built environment involves finding solutions that work for both the environment and the corporate pocketbook. I'm passionate about identifying ways that we can improve our buildings, improve our planet, and improve corporate cash flows all at the same time. It's an exciting time in Atlanta's history. I hope you will follow it with me. |
