Introduction | I was introduced to screen printing in 1991 when I was hired by Dynamesh. That year I found a new passion. 5 years later I wanted to expand my knowledge and for a short time worked for a decal printer. Although I also have a passion for art and design I knew art needed to be left in the art department and screen printing had to look to science for the sake of profitability. Enter industry icon, Joe Clarke. A combination of my mesh knowledge and systematic approach and Joe's math, physics and extensive screen-print experience lead us to develop "BaseLine Specifications." A system of calibration, specifications (and tolerances), and procedures that Joe brought to customers worldwide. Joe's unique insight to screen printing has always focused on the all-important ink-transfer process so it came as no surprise when he invented a new squeegee, known today as Smilin'Jack. A squeegee that allows the printer to optimize the transfer of the ink by using shear v.s. squeezing. I believe Smilin'Jack is a game-changer for the industry and feel privileged to be bringing it to market with inventor, Joe Clarke. |
