About me

Introduction I am a tenured Associate Professor of history at the University of Hartford. My research focuses on the American Revolution, early national political culture, and the history of American political violence. I was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Massachusetts and Vermont. I received a B.A. in history in 1987 and a Masters in Teaching in social studies in 1989, both from Brown University. After teaching social studies at Longmeadow High School, I enrolled in the history Ph.D. program at Rutgers University and received my degree in 2001. Prior to arriving at the University of Hartford, I served as a lecturer at Princeton University. At the University of Hartford I teach courses on American and global history.
