Introduction As you can tell from the title of this blog, I find that chocolate and the writing process often shake hands with one other. There are similarities in the two that are impossible to ignore. Let's see if you recognize them. As writers we begin with the anticipation of a new idea. We cock our head from side to side trying to decide on the perfect words to use; which character to portray and what tone to set. Next, we unwrap each layer of every character to discover that wonderful core element. Sometimes we're surprised by what we find in the middle. Often times, we are delighted and occasionally, we are mystified. The storyteller in all of us savors each line, every paragraph and every emotion. We relish the knowledge that we are the only one that knows about this delectable secret for a while. And we cherish the result, the lingering contentment in our soul that leaves us smiling. There are even similarities in the rejection and weighing department, but those are too abrasive to even bring up. : ) But, if you are able to see the similarities between writing and chocolate, then perhaps, (hopefully) you'll enjoy this blog.
