| Introduction | "My art is a personal journey in which I see the beauty of life whether in a person, animal, place or thing. I am so grateful for my gift." As a young child she exhibited a strong talent in all areas of art with a natural ability to draw; at age 15 she began studying under the mentorship of Master Pastelist, Claudia Post, www.claudiapost.com. For the next 6 years. She received a B.A. in Graphic Design from CCSU and went on to have a successful career as a graphic designer for over 30+ years. In 2009 she returned to her fine art roots exhibiting her work and also reconnected with Claudia Post once again. Sasso specializes in portraits of both people and animals capturing the true nature and personality of the subject. In addition, she also taught drawing and pastel painting classes to beginner and intermediate students in the Farmington Valley for years. She now is an Adjunct Art Professor at Santa Rosa Junior College in addition to private classes and commissions. Relocating to Petaluma, California, she is currently working on a series of portrait and landscape paintings portraying the beauty she sees in people and places here in Northern California. www.marybethsasso.com |
