| Introduction | Readers always have the burning question of what to read next. Family and friends have often requested my book lists, and a reader's blog seemed a natural progression. The topics are from working for 12 years on front desks of libraries. I started with a journalism degree and thought that would be my only career until I found myself unexpectedly working in a library. One afternoon, completely surrounded by books, I discovered I felt at home. This is a blog about the wonderful and crazy world of books. The lists are meant to be fun, thought-provoking and, hopefully, helpful suggestions of what to read, what to give as gifts and maybe what to treasure. Thanks to a long ago teacher who instructed us to always "read with enthusiasm!" Thanks to my family for always sharing their own enthusiasm for books. Thank you to my husband for his encouragement. This blog is dedicated to my mother who taught me to love books and to my father who always enjoyed a good story. |
