| Introduction | About Us Student Reform Initiative (acronym SRI), is a non-governmental, non-political, multi-religious and non-profitable organization established in 2011 as a product of a merger between Student Transformation Action Reformists (STAR) and Students United for Change (SUC). These two student-groups have been in the vanguard of bringing reforms to their schools. The overarching objectives of the organizations are to empower students to take charge of the requisite actions to reform the educational system in Liberia. At this stage we were able to achieve incremental success in our programs and advocacy. Specifically in the St. Francis High School, we were able to inspire students to join our advocacy that was geared towards getting the school administration to provide the basic necessities of students (I.D. Cards for everyone, participation in national events, extra-curricular activities, i.e. sports, quizzing etc). At the end of the school year we had achieved about 90% reform (I.D. Cards provided for every student, students’ participation into national and extra-curriculum activities etc). |
