About me

Introduction	My name is Dave "Smiley" Clifton and I am a 62-year “young” adventurer. I am about to embark on an incredible motorcycle journey that I hope you will find both interesting and intriguing. Although I was born in Butte, Montana, I spent most of my time growing up in Southern California. I attended undergraduate and graduate school at San Jose State and worked in Los Angeles and San Diego until our family moved overseas in 1995. During this period as a “road warrior”, we lived in Singapore for 5 years, London for 3 years and now going on our fourth year in Dubai. In addition to having an amazing wife, I am blessed with two of the best children in the world (my 31-year old son Brendon and my 29-year old daughter Kelly). I have also enjoyed an incredibly interesting and productive work career and in my earlier life was even a surf and ski bum until the "reality of life" set in.
