Favorite Books I mostly read romance and horror novels, as well as some thrillers. The romance novels I look for are usually erotic with some humor. I love muscular heroes, especially with long, dark hair (but blond and lighter-haired men are ok, too), who are dominant and perhaps a bit arrogant (but not too much so), and strong, bold heroines who aren't what the hero expects. I love it when the hero and heroine want each other, but won't admit it (or at least one of them won't), and one resists having sex, perhaps using that to his or her advantage. I love stories where this happens, but then a situation occurs where the resistor needs the other's help, or finds him/herself in a situation where s/he must do the other's bidding, marry him/her, or given a choice where the preference is to give into the other's desire for sex, and of course, the resistor can't help but succumb to the other's touches and kisses. My favorite romance subjects and sub-genres are pirates, sheikhs, time-travel, historical (but not western or southern), magickal, fantasy, vampires, werewolves/shapeshifters, genies/djinn, and royals (kings, princes, etc.)/leaders. I'm generally not into contemporary romances, unless someone time-travels to or from modern times. The horror novels I usually look for feature haunted houses, cursed objects and places, black magick, supernatural beings, evil kids, revenge, mummies, killer dolls, freaks, cannibals, Satanists and cults, and sometimes vampires and werewolves/shapeshifters; however, I'm open to other subjects as well. As for thrillers, I generally prefer medical thrillers, thrillers about stalkers and freaky serial killers, thrillers about horrible consequences resulting from the search for beauty and youth, and certain thrillers about science gone wrong. I also like some non-fiction books on a variety of topics, including books that are good sources of research for my writing.
