| Introduction | Learning to know and accept oneself imparts confidence in others to learn to know themselves. The process is unplanned and organic, but it is the aha moments that help me to understand that an effective teacher is one who recognises we are all creative beings capable of creating new solutions to problems or thoughts which arise. Through constant reflection and self-evaluation we are able to slow down and understand the sensitivities and complex struggles we as individuals often hold within. A listening being is a creative being brave enough to think differently, bold enough to challenge people’s perceptions and talented enough to make it happen. Much of my energy cannot be transferred (and perhaps even materialised within myself) if I cannot come to love and accept the shadows of myself. I cannot know others at the deepest level of meaning, inspire and motivate until I see myself clearly. Personal truth - a time of reckoning...hopefully my professional and personal blogs will help me to organise thoughts, record actions and ultimately improve the outcomes not only for myself, my personal and creative life but for my students also. |
