About me

Location London
Introduction In circa 1890 an early African academy was established in Clapham to deal with the great number of young black people left homeless and jobless following the abolition of slvery. Thus, the concept of ‘black focused schools,’ s (schools which focus on the afrocentric education of black british children, was birthed). Modernly, our central responsibility, remains to create, not await, conditions in which positive role models can freely emerge.
Interests The African Academy aims to establish Britain's first private school providing learning based on: * African based national curriculum * Mandatory Parental Involvement * Mind and body balance * Nutrition * Community leadership and engagement.

Is Afro Centric Schooling our solution?
