| Introduction | I am an Assistant Professor at the Centre for the Study of Law and Governance, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.I hold a doctoral degree in Sociology from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. My research interests range from sociology of law, medical jurisprudence, ethnographies of courts, violence, gender studies, judicial reform and feminist legal theory. I have published on rape, sexual harassment, communal riots and “honour crimes”. I was a founder member of the Gender Study Group [1992-1997] and Forum against Sexual Harassment [1998-2002] in University of Delhi, which primarily raised the issue of sexual harassment in the academia. I also anchored the Law and Social Sciences Research Network, at the Centre for the Study of Law and Governance, Jawaharlal Nehru University. |
