| Introduction | I am Karen - a mother in my 30s married to Rich (family physician) with three children: Paige (11), Will (9), and Cole (6 year). We happily live in a far west Chicago suburb minutes way from my family and only an hour away from Rich's. I am a graduate of the University of Illinois and Benedictine University. I am a Registered Dietitian, though not currently working in the field for the purpose of raising the aformentioned children. Though I am a huge fan of healthy eating you WILL probably read about my kids eating candy and junk. There is only so much you can do. With all three children in school all day, I have started to substitute teach along with volunteering such that my hours are the same as theirs and I find this time very rewarding. My hobbies include exercising, cleaning (though this was much more rewarding before children when it lasted a complete 24-hour period), my dog (Milo - black little mutt), and just about anything that involves fun with my family. |
