Occupation Postdoctoral Associate

Introduction I am a postdoctoral associate at the Duke Global Health Institute. In 2008, I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a PhD in Clinical-Community Psychology. My research and clinical interests focus on the interactions between the mental and physical health of children and adolescents. Currently, I am working in Muhuru Bay, a rural village in the Nyanza Province of Kenya. In partnership with the Women's Institute of Secondary Education and Research (WISER) NGO, I am working on a research project to understand the individual, family, and community-level factors that influence HIV risk behavior among youth. The ultimate goal of this project is to help the Muhuru Bay community develop and test a multi-component intervention strategy to prevent the spread of HIV.
