| Introduction | I am drawn to creative people. I like working with them, I like what they do, I understand how they think and take ownership of their work--but I'm not one of them. That is not to say I'm not a creative person generally, but in the role of Project Manager among creative resources, my specialties are removing whatever obstacles stand in the way of the work getting done, creating an atmosphere of collegial productivity, and keeping things moving--without taking too much of the outcome personally. I'm proud of the projects I’ve managed, but I see the group effort as my primary responsibility. When that goes well, I take credit for it--I'm happy to give credit for the product to the people who did the work. I think that's my greatest strength. |
