Introduction I love a good story and finding the right words to tell it. My love of story-telling is also probably why I’m an avid reader as well as avid TV and movie watcher. My favorite literary genre at the moment is young adult - it’s not just for teens anymore! - both writing and reading it. When I’m not toying with words or catching up on entertainment, I can often be found drawing, running, swimming, enjoying a good meal, or laughing with friends.

Food bio: I like starting arguments... about food.

Once a suburbanite, now a Chicagoan, I enjoy exploring the best foods Chicago has to offer. While I grew up on three-ingredient and innovative, what's-in-the-pantry kind of meals, my palate today is a bit more mature thanks to my fiancee who loves cooking for me (and, trust me, I love it when he does). I'm also willing to try every food once (except mushrooms other than morels).

I've dabbled in food writing and food reviews for years, but it wasn't until I became the Chicago Hot Dog Examiner in June 2009 that I realized how much fun it is to argue over which foods define what good Chicago eating is. Don't agree with me? I want to know.

How tall would you be if you had never cut your fingernails?

The same height (short but not too short) because my fingernails would break eventually, even without me cutting them! duh! (I suppose I should start drinking milk).
