| Introduction | Hello and welcome! My name is Rowena Vergara. I am a journalist who wants to tell your Filipino-American story. I have been a full-time journalist since 2005, but my love for writing has existed since childhood. Most everyone calls me Rowie, but some call me Ro or Rowena, depending on how we met. Truthfully, my first name is way too formal for me, so abbreviations are welcome. Why am I blogging? I'm here to learn, as well as engage others, in a dialogue about our Pilipino American community. I write mostly about Chicago-related news and topics, but I also like to have fun writing about anything that makes me think twice.
