| Introduction | I am a 43 year old martial arts student who has had the misfortune of having 2 MAJOR injuries in the recent past. The first was a complete Achilles rupture which happened during a class right after Christmas 2007. I rung in the New Year (2008) having surgery and being put in a cast. Seven weeks later I was back in class (unknown to my doctor)training in my boot. After several months I finally got rid of it, and started preparing for my Black Belt Test. Five weeks before my test I tore both my meniscus and ACL in class, and had 2 more surgeries (Meniscus Sept 2008 / ACL Nov 2008). I am in the midst of this recovery period - waiting very (im)patiently to be able to return to the thing that I truly love... |
