| Introduction | In February of 1940, 6 months after Hitler attacked Poland and weeks after my 8th birtday, my mother and I created a sensation by walking out of Soviet-occupied eastern Poland, past armed guards, through the snow-covered Carpathian Mountains. This was the climax of just the first part of our journey from Warsaw to New York and of my personal, spiritual odyssey. I have chronicled this adventure with love and humor in three memoirs. "Mother and Me: Escape from Warsaw 1939" published in 06, "A Ship in the Harbor" November 09, and "Love of Yulian" still to be released. To promote these books, I carry a pocketful of fliers to hand out to anyone I can. For approaching passers by with my fliers, on my run/walks along Stamford's (CT) Hope Street, I have been dubbed The Hope Street Stalker. These run/walks bring me many adventures and ideas, which I will try to share with you in this blog. |
