| Introduction | I am a published poet and the author of a young adult novel-in-poems, ESCAPING TORNADO SEASON (HarperCollins). My new YA novel, DRAMA QUEENS IN THE HOUSE, came out in March 2014 (Roaring Brook Press, Macmillan). I'm also a visual artist working with mixed media collage and assemblage. Most of my work (writing and art) focuses on family stories. For 20 years I was an adjunct professor at California State University, Northridge teaching for the Communication Studies and Theatre Departments and retiring as Assistant Director of the Educational Opportunity Program. I've recently returned to Minnesota, where I am enjoying the four seasons and the vibrant writing and artistic communities of the Twin Cities. |
