| Introduction | Emanating from Brisbane, Ironside are a straight up, blues and garage rock n roll band who send audiences into a convulsing, toe tapping frenzy whenever they perform their irresistibly raucous set. Having just returned from a whirlwind tour of the U.K., playing a massive 3 shows at Liverpool Sound City, the band can proudly boast having graced the stage with such bands as Jackson Firebird, newly reformed seminal Australian punk-band ‘X’, The Prehistorics (Syd), Midget (Melb), DZ Deathrays, HITS, Los Huevos, Giants of Science and were selected via competition to play a guest slot on 4ZZZ's Brain Banana (Zed's big annual fundraising event) alongside Cosmic Psychos (Melb). Ironside also recently supported Adelaide's vintage punk rockers Grong Grong, the only Australian band to be signed to Alternative Tentacles. After the rather unfortunate departure of drummer Graham (lost somewhere in Liverpool), Ironside have welcomed aboard Ben Rice on the skins raising the band to new levels. Ironside have been working closely with Murray Paas from Foundry Sound to produce the beginnings of an album which will hopefully be released later in the year to back up their debut 5-track E.P. |
