| Introduction | I am a PA native who has bounced around the country a bit, with stints in Nevada, New Jersey, and New York, settling in Texas for over 25 years before last year's return to the northeast. I attended Douglass College (BA in American Studies)and Rutgers (MLS) in what now seems like the dark ages. My ex-husband was an Air Force officer, which is what took us around the country. After leaving the military, he was recruited by Arthur Andersen in Houston, probably because of having degrees in both geology and accounting -- it was oil boom time! I worked at Houston Public Library, Fort Bend County Libraries, Nicholson Memorial Library System, and, finally, as Director/Branch Manager at Cy-Fair College Branch Library. This last is a joint community college and public library. Ironically, the public side is under the auspices of Harris County Public Library (HCPL). So I left HCPL to come to HCPL -- seems only right. |
