| Introduction | This blog is a screenplay work in progress - retelling of "Harvey" updating it for the 21st century and the times in which we currently live. Originally, Mary Chase spent two years and over fifty rewrites on the play before finally submitting it to a producer. One of the main motivating factors in her writing this story was to see if she could make it possible for her neighbor, a widow who had lost a son in WWII, to be able to laugh again. My purpose is not only to try and make the world a better place, or at the very least, less dark... but also to help raise money to help pay off the debts and medical costs accrued by a friend of mine who is currently dying of cancer. I am hoping to catch the attention of Oprah Winfrey, Morgan Freeman or anyone at 20th Century Fox (who I believe currently own the rights to Harvey). |
