Introduction	It had never occurred to me to blog about anything until my daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. There's a lot swirling around in our heads and a lot to figure out; blogging seemed like a good way to help that process along. I'm a freelance writer of profiles, features, and book reviews; and a former magazine editor who still does some editing work.
