| Introduction | I grew up in Palo Alto, California. Before becoming ill in 1998, I was a competitive swimmer, a student at Whitman College, and an enthusiast of life. I have been struggling with the limitations of Lyme disease for 10 years. I refuse to let this illness dampen my drive to live the best life that I can.
