| Introduction | A preacher’s kid myself, I attended Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California, graduating with a degree in psychology. I attended Denver Seminary and upon graduating, joined the staff of Bear Valley Baptist Church in Lakewood, Colorado, where I served for seven years. I saw the church grow from 40 to 1,000 while I was there. In 1981, I answered a call to become senior pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in another Denver suburb, where I served for nine years. My family and I came to Minnesota in 1991, when I became senior pastor at Berean. My wife, Joanne and I have been married since 1971 and have two daughters, Jill and Shelly, and six grandchildren. My vision for Berean is to lead the body of Christ to be “The Living Church Out There.” As the living Lord Jesus Christ transforms his people, the world “out there” is transformed. |
