| Introduction | My name is Gráinne, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1993. Since then I have travelled a lot, married and had two adorable children (and yes I know I'm biased). Initially, I felt isolated but I started (with the help of my local branch of the Diabetes Federation of Ireland) a support group for people with Type 1 Diabetes and have come to meet quite a few people like myself. It’s only in the last 10 years that I have taken it upon myself to find out as much as I can about my diabetes and to make sure I’m informed about “stuff” going on in the world of diabetes research and treatment. |
