| Introduction | I'm a junior at Brattleboro Union High School. What I love best is being outside exploring the woods, fields and river, learning about the natural world. My dream is to attend Kroka Expedition's NH VT Semester in 2011. This will be a 5 month semester outdoors in the Vermont and New Hampshire wilderness learning the way I learn best - hands-on - about history, wildlife and ecology. We'll ski the Catamount Trail from NH to the VT/Canada border. We'll prepare by learning to dehydrate and preserve food we'll take along, make mukluks, and our tent. In the spring,we make pack baskets, a wood and canvas canoe and paddles, then return home on the CT River! The tuition for this program is $13,000 plus materials and fees. I want to earn the $ myself. I know that there will be other students who wish they could do this program and may be in the same circumstances that I am, I plan on raising $15,000. Part of this money will be for my tuition, the rest of it will go to scholarship money for others. Can you help me get there? |
| Interests | When the water is flowing I like to explore along the shore of the West River (near my house!) and look for unusual rocks, shells, metal detecting,fishing,and being in the water. I'm learning to use a trail camera this winter to help identify and track the deer herd that lives in hills near my neighborhood. I'm also learning to cross country ski; I wish we had more snow! |
