Introduction Rabbi Jacob Herber is the spiritual leader of Congregation Beth Israel Ner Tamid, a Senior Rabbinic Fellow of the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem, and a published author. He is a cum laude graduate of the University of California, Davis and was ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary of America where he was awarded the Joseph Zubow Memorial Prize in Codes. Rabbi Herber is currently serving his second term as President of the Wisconsin Council of Rabbis and serves on the Board of Directors of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation, the National Rabbinic Cabinet of State of Israel Bonds, Masorti Olami, and the Nominations Committee of The Rabbinical Assembly. In July 2008 he traveled to Uganda with Rabbi Bradley Shavit Artson and other leading Conservative Rabbis to supervise the conversion of over 200 members of the Abayudaya community. His work in promoting interfaith dialogue has taken him from the United States to Mexico, Germany and Poland. In his spare time Rabbi Herber races competitively for the ISCorp Cycling Team and plays the Blues on his Fender Strat electric guitar.
