| Introduction | Mr. Thomas J. Occhipinti: Head Middle Magnet School: 5th Grade: thomas.occhipinti@mnps.org 615-329-8160 EXT 410105 Mr. Occhipinti moved to Nashville in 1979. He began his teaching career Head Middle Magnet School in 2001. Prior to 2001, Mr. Occhipinti worked as a full-time professional songwriter, jingle producer, and publisher in the 1980's & 1990's. His songs and commercials were recorded and nationally broadcasted. In the late 1990's, he was inspired to become a teacher by his wife, now a retired veteran MNPS middle school teacher. Mr. Occhipinti completed a master's degree program in Education at Tennessee State U. in the Spring of 2001, and was hired by Head Middle Magnet School shortly afterwards. Mr. Occhipinti was voted the Middle School Teacher of the Year by The Tennessee Middle School Association in 2013. Mr. Occhipinti is passionate about helping his students reach their potential. Mr. Occhipinti and his wife, Anne, are the proud parents of two college degreed adult children, who were both educated in MNPS. On July 12th, 2019, our daughter and her husband, blessed us with our first grandchild, Eliana. |
