| Introduction | Desire for redemption is the blood that runs through my veins: Redemption for each of us, for all of us, and for everything that isn't yet what it could be. Reclamation Designs is a convergence of elements of my life story. I come from a long line of creative and resourceful women. One of my grandmothers, coming through the first Great Depression in this country, could give new life to just about anything. She could remake a dress, recover the sofa, and build furniture from wood scraps. All of it done exquisitely. As a child, I spent much of my free time dreaming up buildings, interiors, clothing, and jewelry. Not much has changed! I love the process of creating beautiful things and spaces with reclaimed, repurposed and redesigned things. I get gleeful about finding just the right previously used thing... It's like a gift. And then putting it in the right spot, or giving it the right coats of paint and wax to transform it is.. well, I don't have a word for it, it's like art and redemption rolled into one.
