| Introduction | I am an artist from Atlanta now in New Orleans, re-inventing myself after years as an illustrator in both advertising and book illustration. Now, I am finding a new voice, Painting and drawing in my studio, well almost every day and doing what I think I do best. Working from memories and the "mind's eye", dreams and emotions inspire my creative processes and provide a basis for my portraits, figures and landscapes. I have always enjoyed basic drawing and trying to capture that power, bravado and grace of movement with line stroke and color. The horse as subject is a wonderful and romantic metaphor and symbol of strength for me as a contemporary artist. It has been used by other artist’s as well throughout art history and I continue to connect with that universal love of horses. The horse remains a subject and element in my work, but I am continually striving for personal vision..and being in the present.. Time changes. Circumstances change, personal narrative, everything, Environment, influences will always inspire and shape my artistic and creative vision and output of expression. |
